The T shape is what deep seating uses when armrests and cushion have to share space — the seat wraps forward around the arms rather than stopping short of them. It's also the shape most likely to defeat a store-bought replacement, because a T is really five rectangles pretending to be one. A custom T shape cushion cover is patterned as the actual shape, from your cushion's actual numbers.
When the fit is right, the T does something no rectangle can: it eliminates the gap at the front of the arms where remotes, phones, and crumbs disappear. The wings fill that space to the frame's edge, the notch hugs the armrest, and the seat looks — and works — like original equipment.
Deep-seat sofa ends live outdoors year-round in most setups, which argues for a waterproof T shape cushion cover in Horizon vinyl. Either fabric, a replacement T shape cushion cover rescues the most shape-dependent cushion you own for far less than a custom foam order.
The middle seats are simpler shapes — shop the whole cushion cover collection and finish the sofa in matching fabric.
Why Choose Our Custom T Shape Cushion Covers?
Five Rectangles, One Perfect T
Bottom width, top width, length, edge, thickness — the pattern honors all five at once. That's the difference between a T that drops into place and a rectangle that lies about being one.
Wings That Reach the Frame's Edge
The forward wings are cut to your full width, closing the crumb gap in front of the armrests. The cushion meets the frame; nothing falls between.
Reinforced Where the Arms Rub
The two inside notch corners take frame contact on every sit-down. Extra stitching at exactly those points addresses the T cushion's most predictable failure before it starts.
Deep-Seat Comfort Without the Slide
Because the notches lock around the armrests, a fitted T can't creep forward the way loose seats do. The cushion stays planted through an afternoon of shifting, no tucking required.
Weather Coverage for the Anchor Seats
Sofa ends stay out when everything else gets carried in. UV-stable, mold-resistant fabric — waterproof in Horizon — keeps the anchor seats presentable all season without special treatment.
Step-by-Step Measuring Guide
• Pull the foam and lay it flat — the T's geometry is much easier to read on bare foam.
• Measure the bottom width — the full span across the front wings, tip to tip.
• Measure the top width — the narrow span between the notches where the cushion passes the armrests.
• Measure the length front-to-back, then the edge — the wing depth from the front edge to where the notch begins.
• Add the thickness at the side, sketch the T with every number labeled, and compare the sketch to the foam before ordering.
A T-shaped cushion exists because of the furniture around it: the wings reach forward past the armrests while the notched section tucks between them. That means the cover has to be right in five places at once — the bottom width across the wings, the top width between the notches, the length, the edge depth of the wings, and the thickness. We pattern from all five, which is why the T lands flush against the frame instead of bridging it.
The notch corners are the wear points. Every slide into the seat rubs fabric against the armrest frame at those two inside corners, so we reinforce the stitching there specifically. The fabric face takes the rest of the shift: Horizon's waterproof marine-grade vinyl for open-sky seating, or Canvas — the woven solution-dyed acrylic — where a softer hand matters more than outright waterproofing. Five-year limited warranty on either.
The zipper stays on the straight back edge, away from the wings and notches, under its flap. It's the one uncomplicated edge on a T cushion, and we use it.
• Patterned around the arms — the wings and notches sewn to your numbers
• Six edge measurements captured, so the T sits flush against the frame
• Sunbrella Horizon waterproof vinyl or solution-dyed Sunbrella Canvas
• Made for deep-seat sofa ends, armchairs with interlocking arms, and lounges
• Notch corners reinforced where the frame contact wears fabric first
• YKK zipper along the straight back edge, clear of the wings
• Both fabrics under Sunbrella's 5-year limited warranty
The tie downs at the corners were not long enough to latch together. Otherwise the build quality was very high.
I ordered a right arm love seat cover, left arm love seat cover and an ottoman cover in the higher end fabric. With a discount code, all 3 were a little over $300. The covers are perfect and the quality of the fabric is…..well, let’s just say it’ll probably outlive me! They’re very heavy duty and totally waterproof. Craftsmanship is excellent.
Customer service was A+. I had questions about measuring and some concerns about shipping. I used the chat option for questions about measurements and it was a REAL person, not a bot. He was friendly and personable. They also contacted me to verify some things about my measurements. When I contacted both sales and customer service via email with a question, they responded within hours. They’re constructed in another country and it took about 6 weeks from order to delivery. The delay was FedEx customs.
Bottom line, they are excellent covers at an extremely fair price that fit perfectly, will last forever and are a very friendly, responsive, competent company to work with.
Not waterproof. After getting 1/2” of rain over a few hours the cushions were very wet when the cover was taken off the next day. Not sure how this happened with a “waterproof “ cover. Does not appear to be breathable as they claim. Very disappointed.
If it’s perfectly, it’s great quality, and they were quite timely.
This grill cover has survived several storms without shifting. The material feels premium and still looks flawless after months outdoors.
This grill cover sits perfectly around the edges and feels incredibly durable. Water does not linger on the surface and the handles make it simple to remove. Excellent quality.
These chair covers have done an excellent job resisting dust and pollen. The grommets make securing them simple and the fabric still looks new after months outdoors.
The water repellent surface works exactly as described. The cover tightens neatly with the drawstring and protects the grill from rust and debris. The design feels well planned and very practical.
The grill cover feels heavy duty without being stiff. It stays secure during storms and the color remains rich even under full sun. The order arrived earlier than expected which was a pleasant bonus.
