Custom Night Covers for Concession Displays

Open refrigerated cases lose temperature every hour they sit uncovered after close. Hot displays do the same in reverse. Custom night covers hold the temp the compressor has already paid to reach.

ZIPCovers sews night covers for commercial display cases — curved refrigerated, ambient, hot food — cut to the exact rim-to-rim profile of your case. The fabric is insulating PVC-coated polyester rated for daily use behind a deli counter, a bakery line, or a convenience-store cold rail. Two grades sized to your route: ZIP Armor for cases that run in tougher service environments, ZIP Shield for indoor lines and standard back-of-house use.

Why Night Covers Pay for Themselves

A refrigerated display case is built to be filled, not to hold temperature in an empty shop overnight. After close, the case keeps cycling — the compressor runs, the lights stay off, but the cold air spills out over the open lip every minute the cover is not on. By morning, the case has consumed hours of compressor time to do nothing.

Closed cell night covers stop the spill. The insulated PVC layer cuts overnight heat exchange, the compressor cycles less often, and the case sits at temperature with a fraction of the energy draw. For an operator running multiple cases through a long-hours week, that is real money back on the monthly utility bill — without changing equipment or schedules.

Same physics in reverse for hot-hold cases. A heated deli case left uncovered overnight is a heating element running against open air. A fitted night cover holds the heat, and the element cycles down.

Health-Code Compliance – Cover Up the Temperature Drift

Local health codes set the temperature windows the case has to hold. Refrigerated meat and dairy below 41°F. Hot-held food above 135°F. Cases that drift outside those windows risk citations, product discards, and reopening hassle the morning after.

Night covers keep the case inside its temperature window while the compressor or heating element is off-duty or cycling at minimum. A snug fit traps the conditioned air, the insulated layer slows heat exchange, and the case wakes up ready to open without a recovery cycle.

If you have been searching for night blinds for refrigeration or vending-machine covers, this is the same idea — purpose-cut for your equipment instead of off-the-shelf and close enough.

Built for the Three Display Types We Cover

Concession display covers split by case type. The cut changes, the fabric stays the same.

Curved Refrigerated Display Cases

The classic deli or bakery curved-front case. Top lip is angled, front glass curves outward, rear is flat. Cover wraps the curve in a single seam so there are no flat-fabric pockets to trap warm air against the front glass.

Sized to the rim-to-rim profile and the depth of the curve. Drawstring along the lower edge tucks the cover in tight along the front rail.

Ambient Display Cases

Non-refrigerated bread, pastry, or candy cases. The night-cover job here is dust, pollen, and overnight pest protection — not temperature. The cover stays light enough to lift one-handed at open, and the heavy-duty zipper option lets staff prep behind the cover before the case is rolled forward.

Hot Display Cases

Heated rotisserie or hot-hold cases. The cover holds the residual heat after the element steps down, keeps dust off the heat lamps, and protects the glass front from overnight pest access. Heat-rated PVC stays stable against the warm exterior surfaces.

Material Spec – 18 oz, 1000 Denier, Commercial-Service Rated

Every night cover uses 18 oz PVC-coated 1000 Denier polyester — the same heavy-duty fabric we use on outdoor furniture covers, sized for daily lift-on lift-off service. Mildew-resistant. UV-stabilized for the cases sitting near a storefront window. Wipe-down clean with a damp cloth.

Commercial-service construction adds the parts that matter behind a deli line: optional YKK-grade side zipper for daily access, reinforced corner panels where staff grip the cover to lift it off, and a drawstring or velcro hem at the base to keep the cover seated against the case front through the overnight cycle.

ZIP Armor vs ZIP Shield for Display Cases

ZIP Armor is the heavy-duty pick for high-volume operators — chain delis, convenience-store cold rails, casino concourses. 10-year warranty.

ZIP Shield handles single-location bakeries, neighborhood delis, and back-of-house cases that see normal daily service. 7-year warranty.

The fabric weight does not change. Only the performance grade and the warranty number do.

Warranty, Free Shipping

10-year warranty on ZIP Armor. 7 years on ZIP Shield. Free shipping across the US on every order.

ZIPCovers is the protective sister brand to ZIPCushions — founded by Maria, trusted by 75,000+ homes, and rated 4.9 out of 5 on Google.
