A grill is the one thing on the patio that gets hot, and that changes what its cover has to survive: every cook heats the metal and every evening cools it again, working the fabric over it far harder than a sofa ever does. Custom grill covers are cut to a single grill's own measurements — hood width, depth including the handle, height from the ground, side shelves and propane tank included — so nothing is left in the open to rust. The fabric is 100% waterproof PVC-coated polyester in two weights: ZIP Armor, 18 oz and 1000 Denier, warrantied ten years; ZIP Shield, 12 oz, warrantied seven. Neither is heat resistant. Let the grill go cold first, every time.
An outdoor grill is not only a cooking appliance for the average American, but it is also a lifestyle that symbolizes pride, culinary identity, nostalgia, freedom, and bonding that fosters a sense of togetherness and shared experiences. It is the centerpiece of almost all cultural events and gatherings.
Keeping it protected from harsh weather elements is crucial, keeping its importance in mind. Standard off-the-hook covers don't provide the kind of protection they deserve. Most of the natives complain that generic covers are thin, ill-fitting, coverage that doesn't last even for months. These types of covers usually crack, tear, or blow off in constant weather exposure. They don't guarantee the fit and protection you are looking for.
Invest in customized protection for your different brand grills, including Weber, Char-Broil, Blackstone, Summerset, Coyote, BBQ, Kamado, Big Green Egg, barbecue covers, or any other type of grill. Designed with heavy-duty, waterproof, Sun, snow, and rain-resistant material that doesn't crack in heavy snow or constant sun exposure. They keep water, dust, debris, mold, mildew, and everything else at bay to keep your grill in pristine condition for years to come. Match the weight to the spot the grill lives in: ZIP Armor's 18 oz for one parked in the open all year, ZIP Shield's 12 oz for one under an outdoor-kitchen roof or a covered patio. Both waterproof, both cut to your grill.
How a grill is installed changes what a cover has to do, more than the brand badge on the front does.
A freestanding grill needs covering to the ground. The cart, the wheels and the propane tank underneath are where rain collects and rust starts, and a cover that stops at the lid leaves the cheapest part of the grill to fail first. Ours are measured from the ground up, with the shelf-to-ground height taken separately so the skirt hangs where it should.
A built-in grill is the opposite problem: there is no cart to cover, just a metal face set into masonry or cabinetry. The cover has to sit against the counter without gapping at the sides, and it needs a drop-down height that clears the control panel rather than stopping at the lid. Water that gets behind a badly fitted built-in cover runs straight into the cabinet.
An island or outdoor-kitchen grill sits somewhere between the two, usually with counter on both sides. That one is measured from the counter edge forward and back, with separate left and right widths, so the cover follows the run of the island instead of bridging across it. Kamado and egg grills in a table or nest get the same treatment, measured around the dome.
Coated polyester is what survives a grill, and we build it in two weights. ZIP Armor carries the 18 oz, 1000 Denier body and a ten-year warranty. ZIP Shield carries 12 oz and seven years. Both are waterproof rather than merely water-resistant, both UV-stabilized, and both cut to the grill you actually own instead of the nearest size up.
A grill puts a cover through more than patio furniture does. It heats and cools every time you use it, so the fabric over it expands and contracts far more often than a cover sitting on a sofa — and cheap uncoated fabric goes brittle and cracks along the fold lines within a season or two of that. It also lives with grease and smoke residue, and it sits over metal that rusts the moment moisture is trapped against it. That is why the coating and the vents matter more here than anywhere else on the patio.
What none of this means is that you can cover a hot grill. No cover is heat resistant, ours included — PVC softens and degrades against hot metal, and trapped heat and steam will rust the firebox from the inside. Let the grill cool completely first, every time. A cover protects a cold grill extremely well and a hot one not at all.
How the two grades compare with a generic grill cover:
The parts that stick out are the parts generic covers give up on. A side burner adds width on one side only. An offset smoker box adds a whole second body at a different height. Fold-down shelves change the footprint depending on whether they are up or down, and a rotisserie motor or a rear burner adds depth at the back that nothing off the shelf accounts for.
Because every cover here is sewn to the numbers you send, those parts are simply part of the measurement rather than a problem to work around. Take the width across the widest point with the shelves in the position you actually leave them — if you fold them down for storage, measure them down — and take separate left and right widths where the grill is not symmetrical, which is what an offset smoker or a single side burner makes it. Depth is measured including the handle and the control knobs, and again at the back if a rotisserie sits proud of the body. Send a photo alongside the numbers for anything unusual and our team will work from both.
The form changes depending on which grill you are covering, because the shapes genuinely differ. Measure the grill itself, at its widest and tallest points, and send the exact numbers — the fit allowance is built in during production, so nothing needs adding for slack.
If you want the longer version, with photographs of where to put the tape, our grill cover sizing guide walks through it step by step.

These are high-performance BBQ grill covers made from PVC-coated polyester in two grades — 18 oz, 1000 Denier ZIP Armor and 12 oz ZIP Shield. The waterproof, UV-resistant coating keeps moisture off the grill, preventing rust, mold, and mildew.
Featuring air vents, these covers prevent condensation and promote air circulation. This ventilation feature allows your grill to stay dry in all weather conditions.
Backed by warranty coverage for stitching and material defects — 10 years on ZIP Armor and 7 years on ZIP Shield — these covers ensure reliable protection, made to last for years.
Easy to Maintain and Clean These covers have done an excellent job resisting dust and pollen. The grommets make securing them simple, and the fabric still looks new after months outdoors.
Highly Reliable Weatherproof Cover The grill cover feels heavy duty without being stiff. It stays secure during storms and the color remains rich even under full sun. The order arrived earlier than expected which was a pleasant bonus.
Measurements Came Out Perfectly I double-checked the measurements before ordering, and I’m glad I did. The cover follows our U-shaped sectional very well and provides complete protection. The fastening straps are especially useful because our backyard gets strong winds.
Small Product, Big Difference Our outdoor ottoman was always the first piece to get dirty. This cover fits snugly, stays in place, and is simple to wipe clean. It also matches the sofa cover, which makes the entire patio look more coordinated.
The fit is close enough that the cover doesn’t sag badly or collect large puddles after rain. It protects the full chaise, including the raised back section. The fabric is sturdy but still flexible enough to remove without a struggle.
Our outdoor kitchen has an unusual counter shape, so we were nervous about ordering online. The finished cover fits surprisingly well around every section. It feels heavy-duty, and the reinforced stitching gives me confidence that it will last.
I wasn’t sure about the measurements for my custom piece, but the they walked me through the process step by step. They double-checked the dimensions before production and the final cover fits like it was made by hand for my furniture. Really impressed with both the service and the material quality.
We ordered the cover large enough to protect our dining table and chairs together. It fits exactly as planned and makes preparing for bad weather much faster. The water beads up nicely instead of soaking into the fabric.
Strong Material and Secure Bottom The cover fits our round fire pit closely and doesn’t slide around. The drawstring at the bottom is easy to tighten, and the material feels much more durable than the thin cover that originally came with the fire pit.
L-Shaped Sectional Cover — Much Neater Than Separate Covers: We previously used three different covers for our sectional, and the patio always looked messy. The custom L-shaped cover fits the entire sofa as one piece. It looks cleaner, stays secure, and saves us time whenever rain is expected.
Survived a Heavy Storm We had a strong storm a few days after receiving the cover. The straps held everything in place, and the sofa cushions underneath stayed dry. I also appreciate the handles because they make removing the cover much easier.
Built-In Grill Cover — Finally Found the Right Size Finding a cover for our built-in grill was nearly impossible. This one was made to the measurements we provided and fits the cooking area beautifully. It keeps dust, rain, and leaves off without looking bulky.
Custom Grill Cover — Great Fit Around the Side Shelves Our grill has wide side shelves, so standard covers always looked oversized. This custom grill cover fits closely without being difficult to put on. The fabric feels thick, the stitching is clean, and the straps keep it secure during windy evenings.
Much Better Than a Generic Cover The difference between this cover and our old generic one is immediately noticeable. It fits closer, looks better, and doesn’t form large puddles after it rains. The material and stitching both feel dependable, and removing it only takes a minute.
This grill cover arrived quickly and feels extremely well made. The material repels rain effortlessly and the drawstrings keep it steady during strong winds. My grill looks spotless every time I uncover it.
I like that this cover protects the couch without making our patio look messy. The fit is close and tailored, the fabric has a substantial feel, and it is easy to wipe clean. So far, it has handled rain and direct sunlight very well.
Worth Taking the Time to Measure Measuring the couch took a little extra time, but the finished fit made it worthwhile. The cover goes on smoothly, sits properly around the arms and back, and doesn’t bunch up. It feels like it was genuinely made for our furniture.
Stayed Secure During Strong Winds We regularly get strong winds in our backyard, and our previous cover would constantly blow off. This one stays securely in position and provides full coverage around the couch. It feels durable and has already handled several storms without any problems.
Our new patio couch was a big investment, and we wanted something better than a loose universal cover. The measurements came out right, the stitching looks strong, and the cover gives the entire seating area a much more organized appearance.
The cover feels much stronger than the inexpensive one we previously owned, but it is still manageable when putting it on or taking it off. The handles are useful, and the secure bottom keeps it from lifting whenever the wind picks up.
Our curved outdoor couch was difficult to find a cover for, so ordering a custom size made sense. The finished cover follows the shape nicely and doesn’t have a lot of extra fabric hanging around. It looks neat and professionally made.
Kept Our Couch Completely Dry We had two days of heavy rain right after putting the cover on, and our couch stayed completely dry underneath. The fit is accurate without being difficult to remove. I’m very happy with the fabric quality and overall construction.
Fits Better Than Any Store-Bought Cover I’ve tried several standard couch covers, but they were always loose and collected water. This custom cover fits our outdoor sofa perfectly and looks much cleaner on the patio. The material feels sturdy, and it stayed secure during a windy weekend.
