A daybed is the hardest shape on the patio to cover, because almost all of it is flat and horizontal. Rain that would run straight off a chair sits on a daybed and stays there. A custom daybed cover answers that by being cut to your daybed's own measurements — round, rectangular, curved, modular or canopy — so the top panel stays taut enough to shed water rather than hold it. ZIPCovers sews them in 100% waterproof PVC-coated polyester, either ZIP Armor at 18 oz and 1000 Denier with a ten-year warranty, or ZIP Shield at 12 oz with seven, finished with hidden vents underneath and a drawstring hem/straps (customized options) to keep the whole thing on through a windy night.

Custom Daybed Covers to Match Your Furniture's Unique Geometry

An Outdoor Cover Made Only for You

Your daybed stayed with you in every moment of leisure and relaxation. Whether you needed a quick nap or to enjoy some quality time, it made you feel comfortable. Now it's your turn. While your outdoor daybed stays with you through thick and thin, it's time to protect it from extreme weather conditions, but not with a one-size-fits-all cover that doesn't guarantee long-term durability. Protect it with custom-made outdoor daybed covers from ZIPCovers — waterproof daybed covers designed specifically for your daybed, irrespective of its shape, size, and design, with or without a canopy.

No Hassle of Purchasing Again & Again

The usual daybed covers you buy tend to tear or deteriorate after one season, trapping you in a cycle of repurchase. Why buy it again? When you can have a cover that lasts for years. A custom daybed cover not only saves your investment for the years to come but also helps in reducing landfill. It is your one-time purchase to shield your patio for years. Pick the weight that matches your climate: ZIP Armor at 18 oz for full year-round exposure, or ZIP Shield at 12 oz for milder, seasonal use — both 100% waterproof, both cut to your daybed's exact shape, canopy or no canopy.

Why Standard Off-the-Shelf Daybed Covers Fail

A stock daybed cover is built to a size chart, not to your daybed, so it arrives either tight in one direction or slack in three. The slack is the problem. A daybed has a broad, flat top and low sides — more horizontal surface than almost anything else on the patio — and loose fabric across that span sags into a shallow basin. Rain collects in the dip instead of running off, and a few gallons of standing water is enough to stretch the seams, drag the hem off the frame, and press damp fabric onto the cushions underneath.

The sides fail next. Because a generic cover stops short of the frame, wind gets underneath and lifts it like a sail — so the cover ends up in the pool, and the daybed it was protecting spends the night uncovered. Add fabric that is only 8 to 12 oz and water-resistant rather than waterproof, with no vents to let trapped humidity out, and the result is the annual replacement cycle most daybed owners know well: buy, sag, tear, buy again.

An exact-fit cover solves all three at once. The top stays taut so water runs off the pitch instead of pooling in it, the hem closes under the frame with a drawstring or elastic so wind has nothing to catch, and buckle straps hold the whole thing down through a gusty night.

Tailored Specifications for Round, Square & Sectional Outdoor Daybeds

We create custom covers for all kinds of daybeds, and each shape is measured on its own terms — which is why the order form changes depending on which daybed you are covering:

  • Round and round wicker daybeds — back height, front height, total depth, depth of curve, and diameter at the widest point. The depth of curve is what stops a round cover from sitting like a flat drum on a bowl-shaped frame.
  • Rectangular and square daybeds — overall height, front height, width and depth (two of each if the sections are not symmetrical), plus cushion depth so the top panel clears a thick mattress pad instead of straining over it.
  • Curved daybed sofas — back height, front height, width and depth, so the cover follows the sweep of the back rather than bridging across it.
  • Modular and extendable daybeds — back height, front height, back width, front width, and both depths, so one cover fits the daybed in the configuration you actually leave it in.
  • Canopy and hooded daybeds — back height, front height, width, depth, and hood depth measured separately, so the canopy is covered as part of the same piece.
  • Enclosed round daybeds, wooden daybeds and daybed-with-ottoman sets — same principle, measured to the outline you want protected, ottoman included or separate.

If your daybed is an odd shape or a one-off build, send accurate measurements and upload a photo while customizing, and we will cut the cover to your dimensions. Covering the rest of the set at the same time? Our custom patio covers are measured the same way, so the whole arrangement matches.

Which Fabric Is Best for an Outdoor Daybed Cover?

The best fabric for an outdoor daybed cover is waterproof PVC-coated polyester — and the right weight of it depends on how hard your weather works. ZIPCovers makes daybed covers in two: ZIP Armor, an 18 oz, 1000 Denier coated polyester carrying a 10-year warranty, and ZIP Shield, a 12 oz coated polyester carrying a 7-year warranty. Both are 100% waterproof rather than water-resistant, both are UV-stabilized against fade and cracking, and both are cut to your measurements — the choice is about climate, not about quality.

Choose ZIP Armor if the daybed lives fully exposed and stays out all year: intense summer sun, heavy rain, snow load in winter, and wind that tests every strap. Choose ZIP Shield if the daybed sits under a pergola or a covered porch, or if it only needs to survive regular rain and a mild winter — the lighter fabric is easier to handle on a large round or canopy frame, and you are not paying for protection your climate never asks for.

How the two compare with a generic daybed cover:

  • ZIP Armor — 18 oz, 1000 Denier, fully waterproof PVC coating, UV-stabilized, 10-year warranty
  • ZIP Shield — 12 oz, fully waterproof PVC coating, UV-stabilized, 7-year warranty
  • Generic daybed cover — 8 to 12 oz, usually uncoated and only water-resistant, no fit allowance, little or no warranty

Not sure which weight your climate calls for? Our weatherproof fabric guide breaks down what UV resistance, waterproofing and breathability each do for an outdoor cover.

Tie-Downs, Straps and Vents That Keep It on the Frame

Fabric only protects what it stays on top of, so every daybed cover is finished to hold. A drawstring or elastic hem pulls the cover in under the frame; buckle straps clip closed across the base for high-wind sites; grommets can be set at 6, 12 or 24-inch spacing where you want to tie the cover down to a deck or a leg. Hidden air vents let humidity escape from underneath so condensation never turns into mildew on the cushions, and sturdy sewn-in handles make a wet cover easy to pull off single-handed.

Why Choose Our Custom Daybed Covers?

We run rigorous quality checks on our custom outdoor furniture covers to ensure that our customers get the best output. Below are a few differentiators that make us stand out from our competition:

Heavy-Duty, 100% Waterproof PVC-Coated Fabric

Our daybed covers are built from heavy-duty PVC-coated polyester in two grades — 18 oz, 1000 Denier ZIP Armor for the toughest year-round exposure, and 12 oz ZIP Shield for moderate climates. Both are made for outdoor use, where water-resistant is not the same thing as waterproof and your patio setup needs a complete weather shield either way.

Not Just Protect, But Impress

Our daybed covers feature functional features that vow to save your investment, irrespective of what Mother Nature has to offer. Optional drawstrings, elastic hems and buckle straps keep your cover secure in extreme winds, with grommets available at 6, 12 or 24-inch spacing. Hidden air vents prevent condensation, mold, and mildew growth. Sturdy handles make installation easy.

A Warranty That Outlasts the Weather

Our covers come with warranty coverage that keeps you in a state of tranquility — 10 years on ZIP Armor and 7 years on ZIP Shield. Buy once and stay protected for years.

Step-by-Step Measuring Framework for Custom Daybed Covers

Five minutes with a tape measure is the whole difference between a cover that fits and a cover that pools. Measure the daybed itself — not an old cover, and not the space it sits in.

Step 1 — Heights. Measure from the ground to the highest point of the daybed for the total or back height, then from the ground to the front seat edge for the front height. On a canopy daybed, measure the hood depth separately.

Step 2 — Width. Measure side to side at the widest point. If the daybed is asymmetrical, modular or extendable, take a second width so both sections are accounted for.

Step 3 — Depth. Measure front to back at the deepest point, and take a second depth for sectional or extendable frames.

Step 4 — Round daybeds. Add the diameter side to side and the depth of curve, measured from the center of the back to the middle of the seat.

Step 5 — Cushions. Where the form asks for cushion depth, measure the mattress or pad at its thickest, so the top panel clears it rather than compressing it.

Step 6 — Send the exact numbers. Do not add anything for slack: the 1 to 2 inch fit allowance is built in during production. Our design team reviews every order's dimensions before it goes to cut, and for canopy or one-off shapes you can upload a photo while customizing.
