Description

The Adirondack is the most personality-forward chair in the yard, and its cushion has to fit a shape no other furniture uses: that low-slung recline, the tall tapered back, the pad that folds over the seat's knuckle. A custom Adirondack chair cushion cover is patterned from your pad's real dimensions — including the taper and the hinge — so the cushion sits into the chair's angles the way the designer drew them.

Fit does double duty on a reclined chair. Because an Adirondack leans back hard, a loose cushion slides down the slope and bunches at the seat front within an hour of sitting. A cover cut to the pad's true shape keeps the foam under tension and the whole assembly planted against the slats.

Adirondacks also famously stay out all year, which is the argument for a waterproof Adirondack chair cushion cover in Horizon — and when the original fabric surrenders to the lake sun, a replacement Adirondack chair cushion cover revives the chair everyone photographs for a fraction of new-cushion money.

The fire pit ring rarely stops at one chair style — explore covers for every shape in the collection and match the whole circle.

Why Choose Our Custom Adirondack Chair Cushion Covers?

Patterned to the Recline

Seat depth, back height, shoulder taper — the Adirondack's geometry is measured, not approximated. The cover follows the chair's lean instead of fighting it, and the pad stays seated.

A Hinge That Still Hinges

One-piece pads fold where seat meets back, and the cover leaves that line supple. No stiff seam across the knuckle, no fabric bridging that stops the pad from settling into the angle.

Lake Sun, Fire Pit Ash, Morning Dew

The Adirondack habitat in three hazards. Fiber-locked color takes the sun, wipeable faces take the ash, and Horizon's waterproofing takes the dew night after night.

Tapered at the Shoulders, Like the Chair

The back narrows as it rises — so does the cover. That taper is what keeps the top third tight and presentable, where generic high-back covers slump and bag.

Frame-Friendly Across Materials

Cedar, teak, poly lumber, painted pine — the cover rides the cushion, not the frame, and the rear zipper placement keeps hardware off every finish.

Step-by-Step Measuring Guide

• Lift the pad off the chair; if it's one-piece, unfold it flat before measuring.

• Measure the seat section: width at the front edge, depth back to the hinge line.

• Measure the back section: height from hinge to top, width at the hinge, and width at the top of the taper.

• Measure the thickness at the side, and mark the hinge position on a quick sketch for one-piece pads.

• Two-piece sets: measure each piece independently and label which is which.

Fabric Information

Adirondack cushions follow the chair's famous geometry: a deep, reclined seat flowing into a tall back that tapers toward the shoulders, often as a single hinged pad. The cover is patterned to flow — full width down at the seat, narrowing up the rise, with the hinge line (on one-piece pads) left free to fold instead of sewn stiff. It's a shape nothing rectangular approximates, which is why generic 'high-back' covers always bag at the shoulders of an Adirondack.

These chairs live in the yard's most exposed spots — fire pit rings, lakeside lawns, open decks — so the fabric spec starts at full weather. Horizon delivers waterproof marine-grade vinyl that lets the cushion ride out dew and rain in place; Canvas gives the classic woven Adirondack look, water-repellent and solution-dyed so lake-country sun can't pull the color. Five-year limited warranty either way.

Zippers face rearward against the chair's back slats — one on a one-piece pad, one per piece on a two-piece set — in corrosion-resistant YKK coil under weather flaps.

Feature Highlights

• Follows the hinge line cleanly on folding one-piece cushions

• Rear-facing YKK zippers that vanish against the chair's slats

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfold the pad flat and treat it as zones: seat width and depth to the hinge, then back height plus its width at the hinge and at the top. Add thickness, sketch the hinge position, done.
Yes — the pattern leaves the hinge line unseamed so the pad still folds into the chair's angle naturally. Mark the hinge on your sketch and the cover is built around it.
The recline works like a slide, and a baggy cover greases it. A cover cut to the pad's real taper keeps the foam under tension, which is most of what holds the cushion up the slope.
Yes — the cover fits your pad, and the pad fits the chair. Cedar, teak, and poly-lumber frames all take the same cushion format; only the pad's own measurements matter.
In Horizon, comfortably, dew and rain stay out of the foam, and ash dust wipes off the vinyl. Brush sparks away promptly regardless; no outdoor fabric is a fire blanket.
Tradition says crisp solids — navy, forest, red — against painted or natural frames, and solution-dyed Sunbrella keeps those saturated shades from washing out. But the range is wide; match your palette, not a rulebook.

The tie downs at the corners were not long enough to latch together. Otherwise the build quality was very high.

Highly recommend!

I ordered a right arm love seat cover, left arm love seat cover and an ottoman cover in the higher end fabric. With a discount code, all 3 were a little over $300. The covers are perfect and the quality of the fabric is…..well, let’s just say it’ll probably outlive me! They’re very heavy duty and totally waterproof. Craftsmanship is excellent.

Customer service was A+. I had questions about measuring and some concerns about shipping. I used the chat option for questions about measurements and it was a REAL person, not a bot. He was friendly and personable. They also contacted me to verify some things about my measurements. When I contacted both sales and customer service via email with a question, they responded within hours. They’re constructed in another country and it took about 6 weeks from order to delivery. The delay was FedEx customs.

Bottom line, they are excellent covers at an extremely fair price that fit perfectly, will last forever and are a very friendly, responsive, competent company to work with.

Not waterproof

Not waterproof. After getting 1/2” of rain over a few hours the cushions were very wet when the cover was taken off the next day. Not sure how this happened with a “waterproof “ cover. Does not appear to be breathable as they claim. Very disappointed.
