Fall-Proof Your Patio: Get 20% OFF, Use Code: WELCOME20

Description

An uncovered long jump or triple jump pit collects rain, packs down, and attracts animals overnight — all three make the sand unsafe or unusable until it's reworked. This cover is cut to your pit's exact dimensions, with reinforced webbing sewn around the perimeter as standard.

Sand that gets rained on packs down and loses the give that makes a landing safe. Whether your program searches for a long jump sand pit tarp or a track and field sand pit cover, this is built to the same standard: sealed, anchored, and sized to the pit. A fitted cover keeps rain off entirely, and just as importantly closes off the pit overnight so cats and other animals can't get in and contaminate it.

Why Choose Our Long Jump Pit Cover?

Keeps sand dry and unpackable
No reworking the pit after rain — it stays usable immediately once the cover comes off.

Closes off animal access overnight
Every outdoor pit program eventually deals with this; a fitted, secured cover solves it.

Anchored for exposed sites
Grommet spacing down to 12 inches plus standard reinforced webbing.

Backed by ZIPCushions
The same made-to-measure standard behind 75,000+ homes and a 4.9-star Google rating.
This is our custom long jump pit cover build, and the same construction covers triple jump pits as well.
Need extra perimeter ground anchors? Select 12" grommet spacing in the customizer.

How to Measure Your Pit

Step 1 - Pit dimensions
Measure the length and width of the sand pit itself.

Step 2 - Add overhang
A few inches so the cover extends past the edge onto the surrounding surface.

Step 3 - Choose your grommet spacing
Tighter spacing for open, exposed locations; enter your dimensions for an instant price.

Fabric Information

This pit cover is built in 12 oz Tarp Shield, sized to keep the sand fully sealed between uses.

Tarp Shield — 12 oz PVC-coated fabric

100% waterproof, heat-welded seams.

Reinforced webbing is included as standard, keeping the cover taut and in place at the edges where the pit meets the runway. Rustproof brass grommets at the four corners as standard, or spaced at approximately 24, 18, or 12 inches for more ground anchor points — tighter spacing is worth choosing for pits in open, exposed locations.

As a triple jump pit tarp, it's cut to the longer dimensions those pits typically need.

Frequently Asked Questions

With a fitted cover sized to the pit's exact dimensions rather than a loose tarp, secured with ground anchors around the full perimeter. That keeps rain out entirely so the sand doesn't pack down, and closes off the pit overnight so cats and other animals can't get in and contaminate it.
Choose tighter grommet spacing — 18 or 12 inches around the perimeter — for more ground anchor points, and pair that with the standard reinforced webbing, which spreads tension evenly along the edge instead of concentrating it at a few grommets.
Yes — it's made to your pit's actual dimensions, so triple jump pits, which are typically longer, are covered the same way as standard long jump pits. Enter your pit's specific length and width when ordering. This triple jump pit tarp construction is identical to the long jump version, just sized differently.
Most programs remove it before practice or competition and replace it afterward, since a cover on the pit means it can't be used. The reinforced webbing and 12 oz fabric are built for that daily on/off cycle.
If the cover stays sealed and secured through the rain event, the sand underneath stays dry and usable as soon as the cover comes off — no drying-out period needed, unlike an uncovered pit that's rained on directly.
Custom additions like reflective edging can be requested — contact us with your specification before ordering to confirm feasibility.
